Abadía de San Quirce Reserva
Elegance and finesse in a wine with so much to discover!
A wine that makes itself known and combines the perfect balance of vineyards planted more than 60 years ago with remarkable complexity, flavours and aromas, without losing the character of the fruit.
This wine is the maximum expression of time, the local area and the Tempranillo variety.
Tasting Notes
NOSE. Elegant nose, rich in nuances, sensation of depth and unity. The aromatic base is made up of fine features of ripe black fruits (reminiscences of blackberry, cassis and sloe) and some floral (lily) and balsamic (lowland) touches, with well-set ageing notes (spices, such as cinnamon and black pepper, fine woods), notes of tobacco leaf and tea, very suggestive inky backgrounds.
MOUTH. With volume and consistency, remarkable body, fleshy centre and an oily touch, firm tannins but well tamed by ageing, good acidity, well blended woods (the effect of ageing is perceived but not the barrel), flavoursome, expressive and well developed aromas in the mouth, with a fine spicy bouquet on a base of seasoned grapes, long and broad aftertaste.
GASTRONOMY. A Reserva with many nuances and noble strength for combining with fatty and spicy dishes, perfect with Castilian roasts, especially with suckling pig; also with stews such as oxtail or osso bucco, small game (rice with hare) and big game (roast venison) and legumes (Madrid stew). Good with cured milk-blend cheeses.
